Even with the weather reaching in the upper 90s and even 100, the group played an hour long set with spirit and energy. Other Taiko groups played during the 2 day festival and there were other demonstrations and performances.

Diablo Taiko Club played at the Light the Night Walk for the 2nd time. This event happened on Saturday, November 5th in Downtown Walnut Creek. Diablo Taiko Club played to the many walkers who passed by during the 5K walk with different colored lanterns meaning survivor, participant, and in memory of someone. Walkers were able to give drumming a whirl by participating in the drumming and other folks could play the shaker, bells, and tambourines. Diablo Taiko Club played a myriad of songs.

Fall is here!

posted Nov 3, 2015, 12:56 PM by Michelle Moy

We have had a very busy fall season after our annual Summer Festival Performance on August 8th at the Japanese American Religious and Cultural Center. We held a workshop with the Cancer Support Community where spirits were high and the energy kept going and going and going on September 30th. October was the month for the Oakland Sister City Fukuoka's 49th Annual Otsukimi Moon Viewing Party at the Lakeside Park Garden Center near Lake Merritt where we were the closing act on October 24th. The East Bay Astronomical Society had their telescopes out so you could see the full moon up close!

Summer Festival 2012 - Thank You To All Volunteers!

posted Feb 17, 2010, 10:07 PM by JA Club Calendar   [ updated Oct 3, 2012, 10:00 PM ]

A B-I-G thanks to all JA Club members who contributed their time, commitment and effort in making the 2012 Summer Festival a great success.  As you are aware, this is the primary fundraiser for the JARCC and helps to offset the operating costs associated with keeping the facility open and available throughout the year for our numerous clubs and organizations.

Your contributions during the lengthy planning, preparation, construction, festival and de-construction efforts are essential and very much appreciated!  We couldn't do it without each and everyone of you!

In 2013, Festival Prep Work Nights will be Monday and Wednesday evenings, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.  Work nights commence Monday, July 8th and continue through the first week of August.  The week before Festival (August 10th and 11th), we will be working nightly Monday through Friday (again, from 6:30pm to 9:00pm).  Hope to see you there!
